Peloton is more than just a piece of exercise equipment. It’s a community of like-minded individuals striving to live a better, healthier lifestyle. Inspire, empower and unite is their motto, and as someone who recently joined the Peloton fam, I can tell you that is ABSOLUTELY what they do. Peloton offers a stationary bike and treadmill. While you’ll enjoy guided rides and runs, your membership also includes live and on-demand classes like yoga, barre, and other full-body workouts. There are a handful of accessories that will not only enhance your workout but take it to the next level.

Bike Accessories

When you get your new Peloton bike, the first thing you need is cycling shoes. With so many on the market, including the Peloton brand itself, it may take some research to find the perfect fit (no pun intended). I personally went with the Tommaso shoe, which conveniently had the cleat already attached, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice!

If you opted for the Peloton treadmill, you’re going to need a good pair of running shoes. The Tree Dashers from Allbirds are durable and supportive whether you are power walking up a hill or training for your next 5k. Not to mention made from renewable materials so that you can feel good about your run and your shoes

You’re going to want to trust me on this one. Get yourself a gel seat cushion and save your tush from unnecessary pain.

Things get steamy during a 30-minute club bangers ride, and depending on where you have your Peloton set up; you may want to get an oscillating fan to help cool you down.

Hydration, hydration, hydration. It is of the utmost importance to stay hydrated during any type of workout. A reusable water bottle is a great way to do just that, not to mention cutting down on single-use plastics is great for the environment!

Whether you opted for a bike or treadmill, having a mat under your equipment is a good idea. A padded mat is especially pertinent if your equipment is in an area with hard floors to keep it from potentially moving out of place while in use.

Yoga is a great exercise to do in between intense rides, runs, and strength training. A good yoga mat will keep you from slipping and sliding, so you can safely stretch your sore muscles.

Yoga blocks help with balance and support and are especially useful for those still working on their flexibility. Whether you are new to the practice or not, enhance your yoga flow with a set of yoga blocks.

As my fave Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby has said, “Grab water, grab a towel, get your life together,” and trust me, after one of his 30-minute rides, you WILL be needing that towel.

Weight training, whether it utilizes your own body weight or varying dumbbell weights, is an integral part of a workout regimen. You’ll want to make sure you have a variety of weights to choose from, depending on your workout.
