Halloween is fast approaching, and you’re no doubt gearing up for the spookiest time of the year. If you’re a horror movie aficionado like me, you love hunting down new flicks that deliver some serious chills. Huluween, the haunting promotion put on by streaming service Hulu, will get you in the mood for all the festivities leading up to Oct. 31 – and it also makes the perfect date night! This year’s event will feature four new Hulu originals and, of course, a large library of scary flicks and TV shows that are tailored to your individual taste. Grab your significant other and get ready for the ultimate movie marathon.

Our top spooky picks

1.) Bad Hair: You may think your bedhead is a bummer, but “Bad Hair” takes it to the next level. It’s 1989 and Anna is an assistant at a flourishing music television station. She gets a new ‘do at the request of her demanding boss – but danger is lurking right at the root.

2.) Run: Where are my Sarah Paulson fans out there? “Run” follows disabled homeschooled teenager Chloe and her mom Diane, who live in a fairly secluded part of Washington state. One day Chloe discovers something off-putting in a grocery bag and realizes the life she lives isn’t at all what she thought.

3.) New Year, New You: This technically isn’t a movie, but it sure feels like one. This installment of Hulu’s “Into the Dark” anthology series is about childhood friends reuniting on New Year’s Eve for a night of champagne, spilled tea and nostalgia. But things take a turn when one of the women seeks revenge on another, proving that the past really isn’t in the past at all.

4.) Books of Blood: “Books of Blood” is based on horror fiction anthology novels written by Clive Barker in the 80s. The film tells three haunting stories that are slightly connected about ghosts, visions, psychics and other things that go bump in the night.

Everything else you need to complete your movie night...

What better way to set the scene than with a delicious fall scent? The Haunted Hayride jar from Yankee Candle is a woody scent with charcoal and spicy notes of black pepper and nutmeg. The burn time is a whopping 110 to 150 hours. We’re getting serious witchy vibes from this.

Let your hair down and order cocktails right from your phone with Drizly, the speedy alcohol delivery service that complements each and every movie night. It offers a wide variety of beer, wine and liquor, serving 31 states and over 1,500 cities in the U.S.

The Urban Accents Movie Night kit includes flavoring for every taste. You’ll get five different kinds of delectable seasoning: white cheddar, sweet & salty kettle corn, chili lime, buttery caramel and sizzling sriracha. As for kernels, you get to choose from fluffy white gold, crunchy ruby red and sweet tri-color blend.

This might be the most adorable, wholesome Halloween decoration we’ve ever seen. The pumpkin-shaped light is petite and easy to move around from place to place. It emits a soft, orange glow that’s the perfect complement to the Haunted Hayride candle we mentioned earlier.
