Kindness Wanted: Complete 7 Good Deeds in 7 Days (and Get Paid $1,000)

Feeling Kind?

We take pride in our research and may earn a commission for purchases made using our links.

Have you ever had someone in the Starbucks drive-thru pay for your order? What about having a friend drop off dinner when you’re having a crazy week? These acts of kindness can seem small, but in reality, have the ability to turn someone’s week from miserable to great. With this in mind, the team at Wishlisted started brainstorming ways to spread a little kindness at a time when it seems like only negative news makes headlines.

Our search for someone with a huge heart:

National Do Something Nice Day is coming up on October 5th — a day meant to remind people of the importance of kindness and doing good deeds for others. And while one day of kindness is great, our team thinks seven is even better. We’re searching for one super-kind individual to complete seven good deeds over the span of seven days. From paying for the car behind you in the drive-thru to dropping off dog and cat food at a local animal shelter.

We’ll not only cover the cost of your deeds but also pay you $1,000 once you’ve accomplished them. You’ll be free to use your prize however you please, whether that’s doing more good or treating yourself for completing your week of good deeds.

Feeling charitable, whether you win or lose?

Wishlisted will also be matching up to $1,000 in donations to Random Acts, Inc. — a texas-based non-profit organization aimed at inspiring acts of kindness around the world, both big and small. Visit their website to read about their mission or make a donation. If you donate, please email us your receipt so we can match it.

Here’s your mission, should you choose to accept it:

Day 1: Pay for the car behind you in a drive-thru ($50 Budget)
Day 2: Call a family member you haven’t talked to in a while (Free)
Day 3: Drop off dog or cat food at a local animal shelter of your choice ($100)
Day 4: Leave a gas card taped to a gas pump ($50)
Day 5: Leave a $100 tip for a restaurant server ($100)
Day 6: Drop off sweet treats to your local fire station ($100)
Day 7: Give a stranger in a store a gift card towards their purchase ($100)

How to apply:

The deadline for applications is midnight on Monday, October 4th. We will announce our winner on October 5th, the official National Do Something Nice Day.
