Wags & Wine delivers tasty bottles of wine and custom dog treats/toys straight to your door, so you’ve got the best of both worlds without having to leave your house. The company’s founders had the first inklings of this idea on a cold, snowy day in Chicago. The husband and wife duo wanted to go out for a drink after work but hated leaving their dog home longer than necessary. Fast forward seven years to 2020, when they were at home most of the time and ordering different wine club subscriptions to taste-test a variety of drinks. That’s when they had the lightbulb idea to bring the “after work drink” straight to you, along with special presents for your pup!
Subscribers who want to rosé the night away have the choice between the classic boxes and premium boxes. Classic boxes showcase small to medium-sized wineries with a focus on sustainability and no hidden chemicals, ever. Premium boxes are the OG Wags & Wine creation: always domestic wines that support U.S./Canadian small businesses, and the company says they try to choose wineries with organic practices as often as possible.
Wags & Wine researches and verifies the pet companies to ensure you’re getting safe products for your pets. All of the toys are manufactured in the U.S., sometimes Canada, and made with non-toxic materials. As for the yummy treats, you’re always getting a variety, like options that are allergen-free and chock full of vitamins and minerals.
Here’s how it works:
- Each classic box has one to two dog products, while each premium has two to three presents for your furry friend. You’re getting two bottles of wine no matter which package you choose.
- Every month features a different winery and a different dog company. Most of the wine comes from Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties in California, with more regions planned in the future.
- On the first day of each month, you get to choose one of two options for the classic box, or one of three options for the premium box. If you forget to customize, your box will default to the previous month’s contents, so if you snooze, you won’t lose.
- You can choose between a one-month, three-month, six-month or 12-month subscription plan.
It’s important to note that some states restrict the shipment of wine. Wags & Wine, unfortunately, is unable to ship to Hawaii, North Dakota, South Dakota, New Hampshire, Utah, Mississippi, Alabama, Vermont, Kentucky or anywhere outside of the U.S.
